9333 Political Action Committee Report

Attendees:

  – Fidel Andrade (L&P Chair, CWA Local 9333)
  – Steve Dutey (Organizer)
  – Unwired Employees: Nicholas, Chris, and Wade

Summary:
The team held a productive meeting with Senator Ana Caballero to discuss critical workplace issues at Unwired. Key topics included:

  – Safety: Nicholas shared specific concerns and examples of workplace safety issues.
  – Training: Chris highlighted the lack of training provided to new hires.
  – Work-Life Balance: Wade discussed long working hours, mandatory overtime, and retaliation against those using sick time.

Senator Caballero expressed that these conditions are unacceptable and emphasized the importance of safety, training, and prevailing wages. She acknowledged that broadband is a necessity and that these jobs must be performed effectively and safely.

Most importantly, the Senator committed to contacting Unwired to help bring them back to the bargaining table, stating she is “100% in” to support CWA’s efforts.
