After months of bargaining, the company flat-out refuses to provide a single item that is beneficial to you. They insist on the Union only accepting items that benefit the company. If we want to gain any minor item to improve your work or personal life they demand an unfair trade where they need to come out on top. They will not simply agree to a single proposal that would be beneficial to YOU.
Over the past week, your bargaining team diligently engaged with the company on multiple occasions, presenting proposals and collaborating in sub-committees, working to enhance the well-being of our members. These efforts encompassed crucial aspects such as upgrades from E to A, healthcare expenses, monitoring procedures, scheduling, safety, and zone upgrades.
Over the past few days, your bargaining team has engaged in detailed conversations with the company following the employer’s rejection of the Union’s proposal to move members from Appendix E to Appendix A. As a result, the Union then passed a package of approximately a dozen proposals focused on Appendix E.
Your bargaining team met with the company today, and we were expecting to get some good news about the proposals that we have passed. They started the day with a small glimmer of hope as the company passed a proposal that, on the surface, looks to benefit the members who choose to use tuition aid
Over the past few days, our bargaining team has submitted proposals aimed at enhancing Article 5 and in addition has responded to the company’s retrogressive proposal to reduce paid sick time in the aftermath of the global pandemic.
The company has unequivocally expressed its desire for our contract to align with every other agreement in the nation without regard for the unique characteristics of our district, the revenue it generates, or our cost of living.
Apparently, the company is feeling generous and has a newfound interest in reducing our sick time post-pandemic. Because, you know, our well-being is their top priority. The company also passed a proposal to wash their hands of the burden of providing contracts to us.
The bargaining team convened with the company on Saturday, presenting a proposal to move all positions listed in Appendix E to corresponding titles in Appendix A.
Additionally, the team submitted a Zone upgrade proposal, highlighting the escalating cost of living in California and Nevada. Given the substantial role the Western region plays in the company’s profitability, it is imperative for all of us to work towards preserving and enhancing our standard of living actively.
The company passed its first proposals today to the Union Bargaining Team. Included in the proposal was a massive increase in monthly medical costs in addition to skyrocketing increases in out-of-pocket expenses. If that was not enough, they also passed a proposal to cancel our pensions.
