Your Guide to the AT&T Employee Relief Fund

The AT&T Employee Relief Fund (ERF) is a public charity created to help AT&T employees and their families who are experiencing significant financial hardship due to an event beyond their control. Made possible by donations from fellow employees and matching grants from the AT&T Foundation, the ERF provides financial grants to help cover essential needs like food, clothing, shelter, and other necessities.

Who Can Apply?

The fund is designed to assist a wide range of employees who have been affected by a qualifying event. You are eligible to apply if:

  • You are an active domestic or international AT&T employee (or an employee of an AT&T Affiliate) at the time of the event and grant payment.
  • The qualifying event occurred within the last six months.

Qualifying events fall into two main categories:

  • Disaster Events: Includes natural disasters (hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires) and incidents causing significant damage to your primary residence (such as a fire or a major pipe burst).
  • Personal Hardship Events: Includes extended illness or injury, the unexpected death of a dependent, or domestic violence.

The fund is meant to help with basic necessities and, in the case of home damage, can assist with the cost of repairs.

Common Questions About the Fund

  • Can my supervisor apply for me? Yes, someone else can apply on your behalf, but you must approve the application before it is submitted.
  • If my spouse and I both work for AT&T, can we both apply? No, only one employee per household may apply for assistance.
  • What if my home is a vacation home? The fund only provides assistance for damages to a primary residence.
  • Do power outages qualify for assistance? A power outage can qualify, but only during major disaster events that cause an outage of four or more days.
  • Can I apply more than once for the same event? Generally, no. However, if you applied for evacuation expenses and need to apply again for home repairs after assessing the damage, a second application may be allowed. This does not guarantee funding.
